SACEM
La Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique (SACEM) est une Société de gestion des droits d'auteur. Une entreprise privée chargée par l'état français d'une mission de service public. Créée en 1850, elle a pour objectif la gestion collective de la collecte et de la répartition des droits d'auteurs d'œuvres musicales qui sont perçus lors d'une diffusion en public ou lors de leur reproduction sur différents supports.

History
SACEM had it's beginning in the provisional union of authors, composers and publishers of music, which was established in 1850. In 1851 the union turned into a society société civile, whose members comprised of authors, composers and music publishers. [1]
